When they are opportunistic and will gladly welcome government control/meddling to corner markets, accept subsidies, and turn a profit.

Right. If I made autos & the govt remove competition, negotiated with unions for me & gave me mucho deniro when I was in financial straits – who needs free markets?
Most businesses support both parties, if they have enough money. So what? lol That’s what we the people are for, it isn’t the government’s job.
What I’d like to know is why people assume businesses are this single-minded entity. They aren’t, they are made up of individuals. And their primary purpose is profit. And yes, they will use the government to corner a market but this is accomplished more when liberals are in charge, actually, because it is liberals putting the regulations in place to allow one company to corner the market.
Because the corporations used their media power to eliminate the Democratic Party…leaving us to choose between the 2 right wing branches of the corporate party…with all others declared “unelectable” by the corporate media
So you’re asking why one would assume a fact….because it’s a fact
“Government meddling”… Corporations don’t have to backdoor their way into our tax dollars…it’s given to them freely by the ton, by the corporate whore politicians they put into office
It’s the people who have to beg, borrow or steal to get any of their money back from their government…can’t have safe roads & health insurance when the government is busy funneling 95% of our tax dollars into the pockets of their-our corporate masters
And there is nothing “free” about their free markets….except they are “free” from real competition, thanks to the influence of the government they purchased
Because business owners are intelligent enough to realize what history has taught us.. government controlled industry only benefits those running the government. Not the owners, not the employees and not the citizens of the country.
Lack of a free market consolidates the wealth of the economy in the hands of the government sponsored businesses. Given enough time, with no competition allowed the economy stagnates and collapses.

Yeah because the get bailouts when the fail
which, GASP, happens and should be allowed to happen
that’s how bad companies get weeded out.
Not every business deserves to survive.
What would you prefer being spoon fed by the government and having them wipe your backside?
